So what’s the best solution, which also comes easier on your pocket. – Don’t even think of the local trains. Try shared taxi services offered by SharedCab and Khaliseat.
Recently launched Khaliseat lets users to share any vehicle they have access to. Be it bike, car, auto or a fleet taxi to make commuting cheaper. Currently, the startup allows users to login via FaceBook. For sharing and finding trip, one has to enter details like timing, date, source and destination of specified trip.
Launched in October 2012, Sharedcab aggregates existing taxi operators and provides shared taxi services to customers for regular travel. We have written about Sharedcab in detail here.
How does it work?
Shilpa Mohta, a marketing executive, who co founded Khaliseat with Dhruv Shah said, “Poor commuting facility with increasing ply on road and pollution have made us to bring Khaliseat for Mumbaikars” .
In three weeks from launch, Khaliseat started receiving around 700 visitors everyday, and has around 250 registered users. In terms of number of rides, Shilpa claims that the service has created more than 750 rides.
“We are looking to expand our offering in terms of rides and users in Mumbai along with expansion across other cities like Bangalore and Delhi”, added Shilpa.
Khaliseat is an attempt to solve a real world problem, however given the security and administration issues in cities like Delhi (NCR) – Khaliseat may not get same response as in Mumbai and Bangalore.
