Payment gateway provider CCAvenue* and Buildabazaar have launched Dhamaal.com, a platform on which merchants can list their products and sell it to online buyers. Dhamaal.com has tied up with banks to provide a white labeled solution and mutual promotions so that merchants who list on the site get access to bank account holders.
Traditionally, most merchants spend a large proportion of their resources in online marketing including search engine key words and display networks. Dhamaal will provide a cost efficient channel for customer acquisition to all these merchants. It is a medium for merchants to market and sell their products to millions of Indians who have the ability and desire to shop online.
Unlike other marketplaces, Dhamaal.com won’t sell its own products, avoiding competition between the sellers products. The site is already live and lists various categories such as Apparel, Books, Cameras, Home Entertainment and Mobile.
Dhamaal is an asset light marketplace. Dhamaal merchants will stock inventory and manage fulfillment and logistics while, customer experience is guaranteed by the marketplace. CCAvenue has partnered with over 50 Indian banks that have millions of customers. Dhamaal will offer co-branded marketplace to banks and their customers to transact online.
To reiterate, the platform will not stock inventory or cater to fulfillment and logistics.
The site lets a seller sign up pretty easily and choose if he or she wants to sell on other platforms such as Amex or ICICI banks e-shopping networks. Interestingly, the portal also lets you recharge your mobile or dth connection.
