What do you do if you are an activist and get gagged online?
Not unlikely in certain countries where censorship is also not a surprise anymore. Activists for #metoo movement saw their posts (about sexual exploitation by a University Professor) disappearing from WeChat and Weibo.
But then this is 2018 and the world has Blockchain. So thanks to ethereum Blockchain, public transaction records (for zero value of ethereum sent to oneself) allowed an activist both anonymity and permanency that is innate to blockchains and quite powerful for activism that is wrestling with freedom of expression.
The Peking University petition letter has now been stamped on ethereum so it can never be scraped from the web. Meanwhile posts on the same topic are disappearing from WeChat fast. Quite the symbolic move pic.twitter.com/zVF3utlUnx

Even if they do not travel as fast as social media, such chains can at least travel to the right ears.
