Chrome to remove support for packaged and hosted apps on Windows, Mac and Linux

A post by Rahul Roy-Chowdhury, VP, Product Management, announced that over the next two years, Chrome will remove support for packaged and hosted apps on Windows, Mac and Linux. All Chrome apps will be supported and maintained on Chrome OS. Late 2016 onwards, newly-published Chrome apps will only be available to users on Chrome OS.
