News Roundup: CIIE Launches Cleantech Accelerator; Housing Launches Price Heat Maps & More

IIM Ahmedabad’s Centre for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE) and the Asian Development Bank have launched PowerStart, an accelerator program for clean tech startups in India.

Selected ventures would be considered for investment between Rs 25 lacs – Rs 5 crores by Infuse Ventures, based on the stage and needs of each venture.

The bootcamp and accelerator programme for early stage start-ups as well as individuals keen on building a Cleantech venture from scratch – aims at providing business, technology, policy and financial support to new ideas and enterprises.


Infuse Ventures is a fund backed by the Government of India, BP, IFC and other domestic investors. ADB support for the programme is being provided through their Climate Technology Finance Centre (CTFC) project.

Launches Price Heat MapsHousing Heat Map

Map based real estate search portal has launched Price Heat Maps, which helps people gauge price variations in real estate across the city.

The map is color coded to between red to green to show high to low prices. Visitors can hover over a locality to find the average price of houses.

The Price Heat Map is now available for the cities of Mumbai, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Pune, Bengaluru, Noida and Ghaziabad. It is available for both rent and buy services.

The Mumbai based startup recently bought the domain and the national number 03-333-333-333 for a whoppng $1 million. The company is backed by Nexus Venture Partners.

Times Internet to Bring Indian Edition of IGN & Askmen

Times Internet Limited is launching local editions of and through a strategic alliance with American digital media company Ziff Davis.

The Indian Internet company, a part of the Times Group, will have exclusive rights to the IGN and AskMen brands and their content in India. IGN is a popular website for video games and pop culture – including comics, film and TV. AskMen is a men’s lifestyle content site.

Earlier, Times Internet had partnered with Gawker, to bring Gizmodo, Lifehacker and Business Insider to India.
