Sandeep Singh one of the co-founders at iExperience says that the idea is to offer uniqueness.”Say you could go for a salsa lesson with your partner, learn sculpting or just taste some good wine. We wanted to create a platform which allows users to explore things with fresh perspective,” said Singh.
It’s a marketplace which curates inventory from various vendors.Startup charges 20% per transaction as their cut. The firm has also partnered with leading hotels,OTAs which ensures added experience and authenticity for users and extra affiliate revenue for the startup.
The company is planning to expand in Mumbai and Bangalore by December this year. Also an android app and a social engagement feature on the site is expected by the end of this month. Website has completed 1000 transactions since its launch in November last year.
The Startup combines unique activities from different domains besides travel. User interface is colorful,bright and goes well with simple navigation and search filters. Customer support is pretty good and responsive.
Another such startup which provides offbeat experiences is Tushky .Mumbai based firm has raised Rupees 35 lakhs of seed investment and was the part of inaugural batch of GSF accelerator.Recently,tushky was shortlisted among 5 Indian startups to join 6th batch of 500 Startups.
But where tushky covers a wide pool of activities,iExperience is mainly focusing on travel combined with experience. “90 % of our activities are travel oriented and unique in proposition”, explains Sandeep. Other competitors for iExperience are deal sites like Groupon and web portals such as skillkindle etc.which has offers in particular categories.
iExperience Funding: has raised Rupees 10 Lakhs from TLabs as part of its incubation program. Soon,it plans to raise $2,50,000 to expand overseas.Globally,it competes with vayable,getyourguide and sidetour.
