Mumbai based Craftsvilla, the e-commerce platform has seen the biggest year-on-year increase in traffic in 2015.
After a recently conducted a survey, which was attempted by 1000 visitors, and filled fully by 556 visitors, the company shared few insights like how often people browse and how many times they shop on e-commerce websites, as a whole.
While the browsing patterns go upto 20 times a year, the buying among loyal customers (18-20% for an e-commerce brand) happens about 5 times a year.
11.3% customers confess to browsing on various sites, but never buying. That means, about 70% of the audience who browse and buy less than 5 times in a year.
Manoj Gupta, Co-founder of Craftsvilla, said, “We are increasingly attracting customers from Tier 2 and 3 cities, and there has been a 30% to 50% rise in transactions. The company is aiming to continue their focus on expanding sellers and products on their platforms. The company already has 25000 vendors and aims increase this number by engaging with cottage industry and MSMEs in regions across the country.”
The online traffic for 2015 on Craftsvilla jumped from 25 million to 250 million combining both mobile and desktop,claims the company.
