Creo the maker of TV stick Teewe, has raised $3 million from investors including Sequoia India, Beenext Ventures and India Quotient.

The company plans to build an Android based customized operating system and launch a smartphone, with the new raised funds.

Creo plans to launch the new smartphone by end of this year and also said that the operating system will continuously be enhanced so as to provide new experiences every month.

Sai Srinivas, Co-Founder & CEO, CREO, said, “The idea of building an Android based Operating System for a Smartphone stemmed from the realization that in the current market, while hardware is getting better very fast, there is not enough differentiation on the software front. We want to be the ones bridging that gap.”
