CSC Acquires Hyderabad Based IT testing firm AppLabs

CSC has acquired Hyderabad-based software testing company AppLabs for an undisclosed amount. applabs

Started in 2001, AppLabs raised $10mn from Sequoia Capital in 2006 and a total of $20million from WestBridge Capital (three rounds of funding in 2004, 2007 and 2008). Applabs offers consulting, outsourcing, offshore and specialist services across all types of quality management, testing and certification activity and has 2,500 testing professionals worldwide.

Last year, Applabs acquired ValueMinds, a Hyderabad based testing service (and earlier acquired KeyLabs and IS Integration). Post this acquisition, CSC will own 100% of the privately-held AppLabs and the integration will be over by April 2012.

As per the agreement, Reddy will be with the company for a year. CSC also has a non-compete agreement with the top executives of AppLabs for two years and WestBridge Capital will exit from the company [via].
