What do immensely successful people do on a daily basis? Ofcourse, they stay focused.
But in the process, they dumbify decisions that They simplify daily decisions that aren’t really relevant and this helps them stay focused (and make BIG decisions).

Look at Steve Jobs, Albert Einstein, Mark Zuckerberg, Barack Obama, Narendra Modi and several business/political leaders.
Steve Jobs wore the same style of Turtle necks; Mark Zuckerberg prefers gray t-shirt with a black hoody and jeans; Narendra Modi wears the same style kurta/pyjama;

‘You’ll see I wear only gray or blue suits’ [Obama] said.
‘I’m trying to pare down decisions. I don’t want to make decisions about what I’m eating or wearing. Because I have too many other decisions to make.’ He mentioned research that shows the simple act of making decisions degrades one’s ability to make further decisions
This is all related to the concept of decision fatigue. This is a real psychological condition in which a person’s productivity suffers as a result of becoming mentally exhausted from making so many irrelevant decisions.[source].

Now think about the time you spend every morning deciding what to wear! Is it really a value-add?
For sure, simplifying such ‘dumb’ decisions will help us stay focused, especially in the times when distractions are a notification away.
Thoughts?
PS: For now, I am off to line up my UnPluggd tees for the next week 🙂
* : same, in this context means ‘same design/style’ and not really the same unwashed clothes 🙂
