Dailymotion, France based Video Site enters Indian market


After YouTube’s India launch, Dailymotion a video sharing portal (based out of Paris) is set to roll out India operations. Dailymotion enables users to upload/share their videos on the site which will havedailymotion india localised as well as international content (currently, it’s all international content).

Unlike YouTube, Dailymotion is targeting the creative crowd by providing them tools, visibility and network under its MotionMaker programme.

Free videos with a maximum of 20 minutes length can be uploaded, but for MotionMaker use, the file size is unlimited and there is no time limit as well.[source]

Dailymotion boasts of a strong acoustic fingerprinting system that can detect copyrighted videos and serves as an antipiracy tool (which means they won’t land up in T-Series/YouTube kind of legal tussle!).
