Data analytics firm DataRPM has raised $5.1 million in Series A funding from InterWest Partners and CIT GAP funds.
The funds obtained will be used by the company to further its global market strategy. The company plans to expand its business in the Asia Pacific region, UK and increase the team size in both Bangalore and USA.
DataRPM has built a business intelligence unit based on search engine technology. While it targeted existing data and query in the SQL language till date, now it will also store and index data from multiple sources.
DataRPM is based on search technologies and tries to deliver a search-like experience. Data is indexed rather than modeled, and users perform queries in a search bar using natural language.
Founded by serial entrepreneurs Shyamantak Gautam, Ruban Phukan and Sundeep Sanghavi, DataRPM, it has its R&D centre in Bangalore, while its headquarters are in the US.
