Ideafarms launches DealChaat, a location aware deal app for iPhone & Android

DealChaatFinding good deals have never been easy especially if you are on the go. Though consumers have an option to look up any of the major deal sites, they are yet to come up with an app for Android or iOS. Delhi based Ideafarms has launched a location based last mile smart app for Android and iPhone.

If you are a shopper looking for deals around you or a brand looking to push deals to smart shoppers, this app might come in handy.

Currently, DealChaat offers mobile apps for Android (link) and iPhone (link) platforms.

How does it work?

DealChaat lets consumers locate the best deals around them on map. It is not a coupon based service that charges every time consumers redeem a deal. For businesses, DealChaat offers a platform to leverage last mile advertisement opportunity to tap growing numbers of Android and iPhone users in India.

As of now, DealChaat allows users to browse deals spanning across eight categories with around 1000 brands signed up to its platform. For advertising a particular deal in particular area, the startup charges flat Rs 8 deal per day.

Since its launch in November last year, DealChaat has seen more than 3,000 downloads. In coming months, it intends to roll out its platform to other 6 cities including Mumbai, Bangalore and Pune.

So who are the competitors of DealChaat? In fact, no one. Presently none of the leading deal websites have mobile apps. To some extent, DealChaat overlaps with restaurant and nightlife listing sites like Zomato and Burrp, however they are limited only to food and nightlife categories.

Given the increasing penetration of Android enabled smartphone users in India, DealChaat is an attempt to bring end to end convenience to smartphone users with features like map support.

The major challenge in this space is to keep updating the offerings, and to ensure that DealChaat allows businesses to control their dashboard to update inventory; opening and locking deals etc.
