DeitY To Develop India’s First Social Security Platform

Department of Electronics and Information Technology has been given the task of developing India’s first national social security platform.

The decision was taken by the PMO after three central ministries including ministries of labour, finance, and communications and IT could not reach a consensus as to which ministry should be responsible for developing the platform.

DeitY will use the socio-economic caste census to find the residents’ identity who will receive the  benefits of the scheme. But, the other ministries will be responsible to authenticate the beneficiaries.

After the platform is built, beneficiaries will have to enrol themselves, under various schemes. After the authentication process is completed based on their Aadhaar card identity, the benefits will be directly transferred to the accounts of the beneficiary.
