Collegedunia has raised Rs 3 crore in Pre-Series A funding round from Umang Kumar, co-founder and CEO of Gaadi.
The startup was founded in 2014 by Sahil Chalana who is an Alumni from BITS Pilani. Collegedunia have scaled the traffic to top 2000 websites in India and have 40000 ++ unique visitors per day basis which will be scale up to 1 Lac ++ in next few months, claims the company.
It is an extensive search engine for the students, parents, and education industry players who are seeking information on higher education sector in India and abroad.
The Delhi based company has also launched a college search engine on Android and has achieved more than 10000 installs. Collegedunia claims to feature 12000 colleges/institutes/Universities and fees structure on its platform.
It plans to reach 1 lakh visitors /day and cross 1 million installs in the next six months. It covers areas like fee, placement, alumni record, rankings, awards and extra-curricular activities.
