Delhi needs at least 35,000 Electric Vehicles

As per a report from Urban Mobility Lab, Delhi needs to deploy at least 35,000 Zero-emission vehicles, including 1000 such for last-mile connectivity. The report also suggests that in order to push the transition to e-mobility, the state government may need to promote digital ride-hailing and data-sharing platforms apart from multiple modes of payment options.

The govt has already started the process to procure 1000 electric buses for public transport and targets to convert 50% of its bus fleet to electric by 2023.  The study further proposed 10 system-level needs and solutions to help the state government in its electric mobility initiatives.
