The Delhi Government which had announced about the scheme for app based premium buses last month, has notified the bus aggregators about registrations and the roll out starting from June 1.
To operate under the scheme, these buses will have to be air conditioned and the bus aggregator will have to run at least 50 vehicles to get a licence from Delhi Government’s Transport department.
The Government has also mandated the installation of two CCTV cameras, Wi-Fi and GPS in each bus and to ensure women safety bus aggregators will have to build panic button in the apps.
The bus aggregators will determine the routes on which premium buses will ply and specify routes along with the time schedule of each trip on its web-based application.
“Ola welcomes the efforts of the Delhi Government for app-based premium bus Services. We look forward to working with the government in extending a world class daily commute solution from Ola Shuttle, to citizens across the state. We are confident that this will go a long way in solving key issues like congestion, pollution and parking that we are faced with today,” Ola said in a statement.
