Delhi Government plans to install 11,000 secured free Wi-Fi hotspots in the national capital. These hotspots will offer 15GB of free high-speed internet to the citizens every month.
Even though offering free Wi-Fi hotspots was one of the key agenda of AAP government, the approval of these hotspots has come in the fag-end of government’s tenure and will cost over Rs. 100 crore annually.
These hotspots would be able to offer a speed of 200mbps to up to 200 users simultaneously within a radius of 50 metres. The state government will also install close to 3lakh CCTVs across the city.
