In case of distress, as soon as the app user raises the SOS alert from the Himmat App, the location information and a 30 second audio-video that can be recorded by pressing the power button is transmitted to Delhi Police control room. The Delhi Police can then immediately alert the nearest Police Station to help the victim.
The police have also asked users to not misuse that app as 3 false alerts can lead to termination of service on the registered mobile number.
The app is currently available on android platform and is being planned to be launched on iOS platform as well.
