Dell Streak, the Android based tablet is scheduled for India launch by October.
Dell Streak is a hybrid device that lives in the space between a smartphone and other larger tablets or netbooks. The tablet is super-thin (10mm-which is thinner than a lot of mobile devices out there), and though it’s just a bit heavier than other smartphones. Dell will also offer all kinds of Dell Streak accessories like a car dock kit, battery replacements, a home AV dock and more, along with the tablet.
As per NDTV, Dell Streak will be available in India by October, though given by the history of Streak, it doesn’t seem likely so.
Streak History
It was earlier called Mini5. There were embarassing goof-ups regarding the availability date.
Dell posted a notice to its website on Tuesday saying online Dell Streak sales would begin Wednesday, backing up Dell Communication Solutions President Gerriquess’ claim at D8 that the Streak would go in sale by the end of July. Dell then pulled the notice from its website and told Computerworld that it was a mistake. “I can say definitely that the Dell Streak won’t go on sale in July,” spokesman Matt Parretta added – source
Similarly there were goof-ups in pricing and in short, the much awaited tablet is off to what is called a bad product launch story.
We sincerely hope that the tablet really gets launched in October and will share our review when we get to play with it. As far as price is concerned, expect it to be available around Rs. 25,000.
Update: Dell Streak is available in India for Rs. 35,000
