DFJ plans to raise$400mn by next year, out of which the company plans to invest 15% in Indian market (i.e. $60mn).

DFJ’s last round was $650mn, i.e. the fund raising this time is 40% lesser than the earlier round (source).

Since 2005, DFJ has invested over $75 million in 18 firms in India and some of their portfolio companies include cleartrip, canvera, mchek and Komli.

Recently, Norwest Venture Partners raised $1.2Bn to expand in India and Israel.

Now that VC industry is booming back, we hope angels do come back and start investing smaller amounts in startups.
