Cloud computing platform DigitalOcean has appointed Prabhakar Jayakumar as the India Country Manager, ahead of launching its first datacenter in Bangalore.
In his new role, Prabhakar will use DigitalOcean’s offerings to help grow and support the local startup ecosystem, continuing the company’s mission of empowering software developers and startups around the world.
Prabhakar’s key responsibilities will be building localized go-to-market strategies to increase DigitalOcean’s awareness. He will also actively be looking at securing partnerships and building key relationships with developers in the community, as the company gets ready to launch its first datacenter in Bangalore this summer.

Prabhakar is an alumnus of IIM Bangalore and NITK Surathkal and prior to joining DigitalOcean, he was associated with Amazon where he was responsible for building Amazon’s businesses in India. Prabhakar also comes with entrepreneurial experience, having co-founded a startup in the social networking and social commerce space.
