Canvera, Bangalore based digital photo printing startup has raised fund fromcanveralogo DFJ, Footprint and Mumbai Angels.

Founded by two IIT B grads (I know one of the founders, Peeyush Rai quite well), Canvera’s USP is high quality customized products that can be delivered in 24-48 hours.

Canvera is targeting the professional photographers segment, and has also launched their desktop app – which, I believe is only for pro account members.

From what I know about the company, they are planning to leverage the mom-and-pop/retail store for delivery of photo prints (this isn’t confirmed) and is focusing on the booming wedding services and events market.

Photo printing is surely a crowded market, but Canvera unlike others is highly focused on professional photographers – and that seems a good strategy.

Other companies in this market: Picsquare, HP’s snapfish, Printo, iTasveer, GKVale
