Estonia based Fortumo Launches Direct Carrier Billing In India. Partners with Vodafone, Airtel, Idea and Tata Docomo

Fortumo, the Estonia based mobile payment provider, has launched its direct carrier billing service in India.

The companies direct carrier billing support will be available to subscribers of Vodafone, Airtel, Idea and Tata Docomo.

The company says that it will have the largest coverage area of mobile payment providers in the country with 530 million phone users connected to the service. The direct carrier billing system provided by the company will let users make payments from their mobile phones without sending text messages, making the process comparatively faster.

Started in 2007, Fortumo provides various mobile payment solutions for web service, mobile web and native in-app purchase SDK. Fortumo mobile payment service currently has presence in 75 countries.

Recently Ver Sé, the parent company of popular news app, NewsHunt launched iPayy, a carrier billing platform that will allow for billing of virtual goods on the mobile at  bigMobilityConf, our mobility conference held last month.
