Endurance International, the company that owns HostGator and Domain.com, has completed the acquisition of the Mumbai-based domain name registrar – Directi.
The company had announced plans to acquire Directi which owns brands like BigRock and ResellerClub in August 2013. The company had entered into a share purchase agreement with Directi last year for an amount ranging between $100 and $110 million.
The Directi acquisition includes those of B2B brands like LogicBoxes and webhosting.info. The startup was founded in 1998 by Bhavin and Divyank Turakhia. According to the company, Bhavin Turakhia will continue to be “closely involved in the integration” of the two companies.
Department of Posts Starts Own Data Center
The department of posts has kicked off its very own data center in Navi Mumbai. The data centre will host the department’s servers as well as manage data infrastructure, and operate all post office service solutions centrally.
Post offices across India can carry out transactions using the data center. The opening of the data center implies:
Customers’ access to savings bank accounts, insurance policies through any post office counter, ATM, e-banking portal through mobile or internet.
Quicker wage disbursement and pension payments
Availability of real time integrated information will also offer increased consistency and reliability in mail, parcels and logistics delivery system
The data center is part of the IT project initiative taken up by the department of posts to “modernise, computerise” and establish IT infrastructure across the country.
Network18 Launches its Third General News Site – News18
Media major Network18 has launched a state-only news site called News18 – its third general news site. News18 draws its source of news from Network18 held ETV news channels.
News18 will cover news pertaining to seven “Hindi-speaking” states of Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
Headquartered in Noida, News18 is a multi-platform medium that is also available on mobile and tablets for iOS and Android. It will soon also be available across other States in India over the next 18 months, said sister concern IBNLive.
PayUPaisa Rebrands to PayUMoney
Indian online payment solutions company, PayUPaisa has rebranded itself. The company will now be called PayUMoney said the company’s website.
The Gurgaon headquartered PayUMoney said that while it may have changed its name, all else remains the same. PayUPaisa’s website showed –
“But that’s it. Nothing else has changed. All your transactions, integration and stores are same as before.”
