US-based web design platform Weebly has said that hackers managed to hack into its servers earlier this year, stealing usernames, email addresses and passwords of more than 43 million accounts.
Weebly was unaware of the data theft, till LeakedSource, the popular breach notification site notified the company about it. LeakedSource said it received the Weebly database from an anonymous source.
The company said it does not store any full credit card numbers on its servers, and even passwords are secured with the strong hashing algorithm bcrypt. However, password resets are also being issued and even if one doesn’t receive a password reset, you probably want to change your password anyway, said LeakedSource.
