Appnomy: 26% Downloaded Apps Are Used Only Once

Apps apps everywhere, which one should I use?

Well, a study by real time apps analytics service, Localytics suggests that 22% of those who downloaded apps never used it again, i.e. they end up as one time users only.

The company collected data in 2010, across Android, iPhone, iPad, Blackberry and Windows Phone 7 apps [US only].

“The resulting analysis shows that for customers using an app for the first time between January and March, about 22% of them never open the app again. In the second and third quarters, the rate of one-time usage is flat at 26%. One-time usage grows to over 28% in the fourth quarter, but some of those customers may still use the app again in early 2011.“ [source]

While 22% does sound a bit depressing (heck! Mobile users aren’t Loyal to Cool Apps) , the good news is that 78% still want to give your app a second chance! Think about it – any website/ecommerce doesn’t go beyond 10% conversion rate. So it’s not that bad!

What’s your opinion, app entrepreneur?
