E-pharmacies could be shut down by Centre for data misuse

  • After sending show-cause letters to 20 or so online pharmacies, including Tata 1mg, Amazon, Flipkart, NetMeds, MediBuddy, Practo, Frankross, and Apollo, among others, the DCGI announced the latest development a few days ago.
  • The agency asserted that the sale or distribution of drugs through online platforms “without a licence have a potential impact on quality of drugs and pose risk to public health”.
