By 2030, India will only have electric cars [Govt]

“We are going to introduce electric vehicles in a very big way. We are going to make electric vehicles self- sufficient like UJALA. The idea is that by 2030, not a single petrol or diesel car should be sold in the country,”

said Piyush Goyal, Minister of State with Independent Charge for Power, Coal, New and Renewable Energy while addressing the CII Annual Session 2017.
The UJALA scheme has seen distribution of over 500million+ LED bulbs in India, making it one of the most impactful programme.
