Electronic Gadgets Now Available on Amazon India

Close on the heels of beginning to sell Kindle devices in India, Amazon.in has now gone and extended its product portfolio to include Mobiles & Accessories, Camera & Photography, and Portable Media Players.

Amazon says that there are now over 20,000 electronics products from over 200 brands on the website.

When Amazon launched Amazon.in in India 20 days back, it began to list and sell only books, movies and TV shows and expanded to include the Kindle family of E-readers, ebooks and Kindle Fire tablets last week.

Retail stores like Croma, Vijay Sales, UniverCell, Saholic, and J.J. Mehta & Sons are going to use Fulfillment by Amazon. Items Fulfilled by Amazon feature additional benefits of cash on delivery, delivery tracking to the doorstep, and free returns pickup. To celebrate the launch of Amazon.in,  customers will enjoy free delivery with no minimum order value on all orders Fulfilled by Amazon.

This also applies to the sale of books on the website.

Amazon.in is also accessible on mobile devices allowing customers to shop anywhere.

Amazon operates marketplaces in 10 countries including United States, Canada, France, Japan and the UK. There are more than 2 million third party Amazon sellers worldwide.

Last month, as part of the global expansion of its app store, Amazon launched its Android app store in India.

Earlier last year, Amazon launched the Kindle Store in India and began retailing Kindle e-readers through electronics retailer Croma. The company began testing the waters in India with the launch of Junglee.com, its comparison shopping site.

Amazon’s biggest competition in this category is set to come from Flipkart and Snapdeal.
