Experiential science education startup Everest Edusys has raised Rs 5.7 crore from a Series A funding round led by Lok Capital. Other investors include The Chennai Angels who also recently invested in education startup Skyfi Labs.
Everest was started in 2011 by Chokanath Hymavathy and Krishna Srinivasan in Chennai.
The startup provides schools and teachers exhibit based education for students as compared to only theory. Everest’s focus is on providing education to children of all income levels.
Everest Edusys will use the current round of funds to expand the network of its flagship science labs called QED for private schools. The funds will also be used to develop the nodal science centres for Government schools.
Currently, the Everest Edusys’ experiential learning methods are being employed in over 100 schools, this includes 20 Government schools.
