Facebook Launches Standalone Photo App Moments

Facebook has announced the launch of yet another standalone app called Moments that makes it easier for you to share photos with your friends.

Sharing photos with friends is effortless, with the only thing that a user needing to do is offer Moments access to their smartphone’s image gallery.

The app uses Facebook’s facial recognition technology to recognize people in an image and then shares them with other Facebook Moments users.

Images are synced based on where they were taken and which friends are in them, allowing you to sync photos with specific friends and they can do the same with you as well.

Since Facebook recognises faces in the photos synced with Moments, you can even search for photos that a specific friend/friends are in.

Moments will be launching on iOS and Android starting off with its release in the US today and will come to more regions over time.
