Facebook Says Humans Won’t Write Its Trending Topics Anymore

After allegations surfaced of political bias in the manner Facebook selects and writes topics on its Trending section, the social network announced that it will end this practice and replace them with excerpts directly from the stories. Facebook has also fired its editorial staff, and its engineering team will now select which stories ultimately make into the trending section based on algorithms.
