Open source ERP product for schools, Fedena has introduced OEM partner model for the product through the introduction of Developer License, that will allow any other company to build their own application using Fedena’s source code.
The Bangalore based startup has grabbed clients like Aditya Group of Institutions, Hope College (Australia) and importantly, contract from Kerala government (to automate 13,000 schools with more than 70 lakh students and 1.5 lakh teachers) and claims to reach 20 million + students.
As an OEM, you will be able to set the price and terms for your product while Fedena helps power your solution (you have the freedom to hide or reveal about the partnership). The OEM model’s pricing start at 20,000$ for 100 installation license and will vary based on the further support requirement and geography. And each license above the 100 initial ones will cost 100$ only. The license is valid upto 3 years.
The company has introduced a startup model in the developer license model to allow bootstrapped companies to acquire developer license and start selling apps powered by Fedena. The startup price starts on 2000$ but limited to only 5 sales and only email support available for 6 months.
An interesting growth trajectory, especially given that Fedena has taken an open source approach to the solution and is competing with established players like Blackboard and Moodles.
