After Flipkart moved to the hybrid model, now it will be Myntra’s turn to sell products via the marketplace model, said a report. The fashion retailer plans on using this model from April, with a view to expand into smaller cities in India.
Myntra expects to sign up over 500 vendors in its first year of operations, and sees a fifth of its business coming from the model.
Flipkart had switched to the marketplace model in April 2014. The news of Myntra shifting to the hybrid model comes shortly after Azim Premji invested in the company. Myntra is also in talks to raise more funding.
