redBus launches virtual bus stops. Takes away the travelers pain

Traveling to a new city is always painful, especially when you have no clue of bus boarding point. Unless you are a seasoned traveler, you end up confirming multiple times where the boarding point is just to ensure that you don’t miss your bus.

redBus has now launched an ultra cool feature called “redBus.in Virtual Bus Stops“. So next time when you are deciding your bus journey simply click on “Help me select boarding point accessible right next to bus stop selection dropdown” and redBus will show you all the bus stops with their GPS location on a map. You can also search for your own home, office or hotel and then see which bus stop is closest to you.

What’s important about the feature is not just that you can find the nearest boarding point, but a more realistic map view of the boarding point. –  full 180 degree panoramic view besides photos from multiple angles.

In short, make the travel painless and to put it bluntly, dumb-proof.

This feature is currently available for buses departing from Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, Coimbatore, Delhi, Kolkatta, Ahmedabad, and will expand this feature to many more cities across the country.

A few days back, I wrote a post around ‘What EXACTLY is a product‘ and talked about an important aspect, i.e. of augmented features. Augmented elements are essentially the non-physical, the non-core features of the product and exists because of one reason – to ensure that your product experience is brilliant.

And that’s what redBus’ virtual bus stop is trying to achieve with your travel experience. Does this lead to better conversion? Maybe yes. Maybe not. But it surely brings more trust on the platform and removes unknown variables from the experience.

Do give the feature a spin and share your feedback.
