The last time I tried to buy a book online I straight went for Flipkart, thinking I would get the best deal there. It turned out that infibeam had a better deal. This time when I wanted to buy a book, I went and checked out both infibeam and Flipkart. It turned out Amazon.in had a better deal.
I always end up finding a good book at a bookstore and wanting to pick it up, but instinctively the first thing I go for is my mobile phone to check the price for the same book online. This is a scenario when the LowPrice app will come in handy. All I need to do is turn the book over and scan the barcode or type in the book name, and the app lists out the book prices from the top 12 online bookstores.
With a large number of online book retailer offering discounts anywhere between 20-50% inconsistently, it is difficult to know who has the best discount. In such instances browsing on a mobile browser for prices becomes cumbersome and apps like LowPrice can really help.

In terms of competition, the app will be competing with the online price comparison portal like India Book Store, MySmartPrice and apps like Flippy (Only displays Flipkart price of scanned barcode) and others.
In the future the app plans to add more products into the comparison category as well as add new features like ‘Price Alert’, that will alert you when the selected book price falls.
