Firefox for Mobile Launched – Currently Available only for N900
Firefox has launched the mobile version of the browser (right now, available only for Nokia N900) and few features of the mobile browser include:
- Weave Sync – Sync your Firefox tabs, history, bookmarks and passwords between your desktop and mobile device for a seamless browsing experience
- Add-ons – Customize your Firefox by adding small pieces of functionality, like games and news readers, that help make the mobile Web browser your own
- Location-Aware Browsing – Get maps and information relevant to your location
- Tabbed browsing – View open tabs as thumbnails to easily identify and select the Web page you’d like to go to next -[from the official blog]
And as with Firefox, there are quite a few add-ons available now (link) and the mobile browser will soon be launched for other phones as well.
An interesting development for the mobile world – after all, Opera needs to face some music as well.
Will FF’s strong hold in Desktop market help them gain market share in Mobile market? What’s your opinion?
