Firstouch Partners With DeitY To Launch Text-To-Speech Technology

The aim is to expand smartphone penetration in tier 2 and tier 3 cities and digitally connect 300mn consumers in a span of five years. The technology will be integrated with Firstouch OS. Mumbai based Firstouch will customize the technology for the users and also release its SDK so apps can be built.

Firstouch, a regional smartphone operating system has partnered with Department of Electronics and IT (DeitY) and will soon launch text-to-speech technology in regional languages.

The aim is to expand smartphone penetration in tier 2 and tier 3 cities and digitally connect 300 million consumers in a span of five years.

The technology will be integrated with Firstouch OS. The company claims to have two million users and plans to attain an additional of 100 million by 2018.

Mumbai based Firstouch will customize the technology for the users. To encourage the participation of developers, the company will also release its SDK so localized apps can be built.

Firstouch was selected by NextBigWhat in the promising startups list, that can cause serious disruption in the near future.
