FirstRideChoosing the right car to buy has always been one of the most confusing decisions to make. You have to take in considerations friend’s suggestions, what the auto magazines have to say and finally what your family thinks. But at the end of the day it all boils down to how the car feels to drive during the test drive.

Booking a test drive meant innumerous calls to various car dealers which end up with a ‘not available’ response and finally when the response comes through you are not free. intends to solve most of these problems.

The startup wants to target people who want to buy a new car or used car, buy spare parts or accessories or get their cars serviced.

The service is in its initial phase in Chennai and has tied up with 8 car dealers in the city. The company has organized an Auto-expo in Chennai in March where they will be displaying 25-30 automobiles from 10-12 different brands.  Another event ” Test Drive Festival” is Bangalore is slated for June, it will showcase 70-80 cars from multiple brands.

The company plans to expand its services to other cities soon.

The feature to book test drives on the site is great. Not many websites have all the brands under one roof. However, carmakers have let users book test drives on their official websites. For first time buyers who have no previous brand allegiance, this is a great service. The site needs a lot of work on the information side. For instance, the advance information tab in the browse cars page displays just basic ratings with no explanation or information about the vehicle.

With a little bit more tweaking the site has a long way to go in the future.
