Salesforce and Adobe Team up to offer Flash Based Applications in the Cloud

In a move to support developers to build cloud based rich Internet applications (RIAs), Salesforce.com and Adobe offer a joint product called “Adobe Flash Builder. Now enterprise developers can use salesforce.com’s force.com as online platform to create rich Internet applications in the cloud.

Adobe Flash Builder for Force.com enables developers to create virtually any kind of applications to meet business needs. Developers can create RIAs without any hassle that can be deployed to end users through the browser using the Adobe Flash Player or directly to the desktop via Adobe AIR.

Salesforce.com is hoping to put more value to CRM users as they can access drag and drop capabilities and built-in interactive charting and animation components. Add to this, CRM users can enjoy – “Pre-built integration with Adobe LiveCycle Data Services for client-side data management and synchronization services, automatically synchronizing data between the Force.com database and an Adobe AIR secure local data store on the client, allowing developers to build apps that seamlessly span connected and disconnected environments”.

Eric Stahl, senior director of product marketing at salesforce.com gives a sneak peek on Flash Builder for Force.com:

The developer preview of Adobe Flash Builder for Force.com is now available on the salesforce.com developer web site . Expect the full release in the first half of 2010.
