Mumbai based student accommodation website Flat.to which was acquired by Commonfloor, has launched Flatchat – an app that lets people, hunting for flats and flatmates, chat with each other by matching them according to their requirements.
Currently a lot of people take to Facebook groups for finding flats and flatmates in major cities like Mumbai Delhi Bangalore etc. and most listings for houses can be found only on real estate portals. This is where Flatchat has its potential customers who can now find flats easily through an app.
One of the most interesting features of Flatchat is the personal “Flatchat assistant”. Apart from having the option to chat with “Matches (people matching your requirement)” Flatchat provides with an assistant who will be the one point of contact for any requirement. Flatchat assistant will personally assist in finding available places.
The team at the backend will make calls matching to user’s requirement and provide available options to the user. Users looking for accommodation now only have to chat with their assistant.
Earlier in October last year, Flat.to had launched Flatmate Finder that could list a flat to find a flatmate and find others who want to rent a flat with the user. In July 2013, Flat.to had raised angel funding form Aakrit Vaish, the Director of Flurry India.
Flat.to started off as a college project in 2013 for three areas of Mumbai and is now present in six cities across India.
