Flipkart Claims To Have Crossed 100 Million Registered Customers

Six months after it claimed to have crossed the platinum number of 75 million registered users, Flipkart states it has crossed the 100 million registered users mark, becoming the first e-commerce company in the country to hit the milestone.

According to Flipkart, its registered customer base stands at around 63% of entire wireless and wireline broadband connections in India. The figures released by TRAI in September 2016 put the number of broadband connections in the country at under 160 million.

Question for Flipkart:

Is Flipkart bigger than the total number of shoppers online?

The February 2016 report by Morgan Stanley puts the number of online shoppers in India at 50 million, while the Assocham- PwC report of March 2016 said 55 million people purchased something online in 2015, and the number is expected to grow to 80 million this year, while Flipkart is claiming 100 million user base.
