Last year, Nikon issued an advisory against Flipkart (and Snapdeal) cautioning customers from buying products on these marketplaces.
And now, Flipkart has filed a legal case against Nikon in Karnataka high court to restrain Nikon from making such statements.
“They have singled us out and they cannot make such statements. We are selling the same product and therefore, we are asking the high court to restrain Nikon from publishing the statement on their website,” [source]
The case was filed on August 3 and the next hearing is scheduled on August 21.
While we don’t know the details of the case, are there instances of Nikon not respecting the warranty purchased on products from Flipkart? If yes, that’s a serious issue and Flipkart should drag companies into a legal battle, after all they can’t be doing step motherly treatment to online marketplaces.
