Flipkart To Raise Another Round Of Billion Dollar Funding?

flipkart-logoAfter its billion dollar funding earlier in July, Flipkart is now in talks to raise another round of funding estimated to be anywhere between 700 million to 1 billion dollars. The firm is currently valued at $6 billion and is expected to reach $11-$12 billion after the fresh round of funding.
The funds will help Flipkart expand its aggressive moves to capture market share. While the earlier round of funding was led majorly by Tiger Global and Naspers among other investors, the investors in the latest round are undisclosed as of now. But at least three investors are expected to be a part of it. The deal is expected to close in another 45 days.
Other than Tiger Global and Naspers, the existing investors in Flipkart include Government of Singapore Investment Corp., DST Global, Accel Partners, Dragoneer Investment Group, Iconiq Capital and Vulcan Capital. There are speculations that The Qatar Investment authority would be one of the major investors in Flipkart’s latest round of funding although there has been no confirmation on the same.[source]
