Flipkart has announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with CSC SPV (CSC e-Governance Services India Limited). This will allow Flipkart and CSC SPV to work out a mechanism to help Common Service Centers (CSCs) pan India to leverage Flipkart’s e-commerce platform. This is another activity in its mission, “Flipkart Karigaar ke Dwaar”.- a MoU with Ministry of Labour to benefit MSMEs and artisans in building their capabilities and improving their competitiveness.
The MoU lays emphasis on development of ancillary industries (packaging, logistics) and employment avenues in rural areas – reducing rural migration and enhancing the revenue generation opportunities of CSCs.
The partnership will offer rural artisans and MSME’s the opportunity to build and establish their brands nationally, access to financial, marketing and supply chain support and to generate employment and enhance rural economy.
In a similar kind of move, Flipkart had earlier signed a MoU with Ministry of Textiles to provide platform and market intelligence to rural weavers. This was intended at boosting the handloom sector, to empower the weavers and to increase manufacturing in rural India.
