Less than 6 months after Flipkart acquired digital advertising firm AdIQuity and mobile marketing firm Appiterate, CEOs of both firms have quit the Indian e-commerce company.
Anurag Dod, head of AdiQuity and Tanuj Mendiratta, head of Appiterate left unexpectedly according to a Livemint report, with a company spokesperson confirming their departures.
Flipkart acquired AdIQuity back in March and Appiterate in April. Both deals were believed to be acquihires where Flipkart was after onboarding talent from both companies.
While it isn’t known why the heads of the two companies quit, Flipkart CEO Sachin Bansal is himself leading the company’s push into the digital ad business.
“Appiterate and AdIQuity teams are now well integrated into Flipkart, and senior leadership talent from both companies have taken significant roles at Flipkart,” said a company spokesperson.
There’s been a recent slew of top-level exits from Flipkart. Ravi Vora, CEO of strategic brands group at Flipkart left the firm along with Amod Malviya and Nigam who were heading technology at the company.
