#flipkart’s Expanding, To Launch DigiFlip Tablets on June 26 The biggest e-commerce service in India, Flipkart is looking to venture in the tablet segment. The service which has until now — and still do — acted as the platform for other tablet manufacturer to sell their devices, is launching tablets of its own under the brand name DigiFlip.
The company will be giving out more information, possibly launching it as well on June 26th. What we know so far is that DigiFlip tablets won’t sport high specification and have MediaTek chips powering them. The device will be competing against the likes of small tablet makers such as Micromax, BSNL etc, and would definitely cost less than Rs 10,000.
This is company’s another attempt at competing with the giant Amazon, which is expanding its market in India. Amazon sells several Kindle ebook readers, as well as Kindle Fire HDX tablets. Funny enough, Flipkart has sent the media folks a small glass jar filled with tablets.
