- Taiwanese manufacturer Foxconn will invest $600 million in two manufacturing projects in Karnataka, including a unit for casing components for smartphones such as Apple’s iPhones.
- The company will set up a second plant for chip-making tools in partnership with Applied Materials, investing $250 million.
- These investments come after meetings between Foxconn, Karnataka’s IT and Industries ministers, and are expected to generate 12,000 jobs.
