Are you one of those most human beings, who sings in the closed doors of your room, but have been waiting to go pro? ‘From Mug to Mike’ is a Bangalore-based platform, which trains people who consider themselves ‘bathroom singers’ but “want to improve so they can sing in public.”
Started by husband and wife duo Sunil Koshy and Archana Hallikeri in 2013, From Mug to Mike believes anybody can sing and so far have trained more than 5,000 participants at their workshops in the city.
Unlike regular singing classes that require you to put in years of hardwork, From Mug to Mike workshops are a day long and targets corporate executives, housewives or anyone who simply loves singing. Each participant gets to record his or her voice in a high-end studio, and also get a critical analysis of their singing strengths and areas for improvement.
The workshop also includes the basics of traditional training and also tips and tricks of singing, including voice culture, studio singing and other nuances of film singing, that are not taught usually in traditional music systems.
If you are one of those ‘bathroom singers’ waiting to let your voice be heard, From Mug to Mike is the platform for you.
